   In south africa there is only one tuan guru. Was brought here as a prisoner for conspiring with the british against the dutch. He built the first madrassa then mosque in south africa around 1795 (Cape town). I think its due to him and others like him that we still use words like “Piesang and taramakasi” here in cape town.
